Super Ramen Rocketship

Where do I begin to explain this album to you? Paten Locke is one of my best friends in the world. When it comes to music I am not biased at all so when I say this is the truth, it is not because the dude let me sleep on his couch for a week. Classic material here the whole way through. So proud of this guy! If you like the real shit, this is for you.

The Gucci Jacket

Not much to say here other than this thing had a price tag of $1100. No I did not buy it. I did manage to take a quick flick for all to laugh at. I love Gucci, what can I say?

Introducing Dollop

Over the summer I was asked by Elias Foley of If/Then Recordings to submit something musical to a local independent compilation called 10 Speed Summer. The result was the birth of Dollop and the song "You". I hadn't really worked on music in a minute but wanted to contribute to the compilation and try something new in the process. Over the course of a week I threw the following little number together.

Dollop - "You"

If you are interested in hearing the rest of the 10 Speed Summer compilation, it is available for download here.

Song of the night

Nothing like going through records on a Sunday night waiting for Family Guy to download. Came across this forgot about gem from the 1970 Christine Perfect LP. Crisp drums and a simple rhythm groove. Pure dopeness. She was in Fleetwood Mac so you know I'm a fan. Check the pic below with a young Stevie Nicks.

Aretha's little sister

From the "Chain Reaction" LP, "You Don't Really Mean It" is a power ballad with amazing production. Just listen to the way the horns come from nowhere. Carolyn Franklin released 5 solo albums and served as a background vocalist for her big (no pun intended) sister Aretha.
